The estate “Manzone" is located in Castelletto within the township of Monforte d’Alba, an area famous for its great wines.Here, right in the centre of the Barolo area, in the heart of the Langhe, the Alps are the backdrop for splendid hills and prestigious vineyards, a really breathtaking view.Our winery, located at about 15 Km from Alba, is a small family-run concern consisting of 8 hectares all planted with vineyards.40,000 bottles (3,300 cases) per year are produced in average.All work is carried out by our family, including all phases of wine making, in order to obtain natural and high quality wines.The passion for our wines arises from respect for nature and from the care and dedication for our work...
“The estate continues the family tradition established by my great-grandfather in 1925.He purchased “Ciabot del Preve” from the Parish Priest of Castelletto, and started the activity of cantiniere (cellar-master) selling his wines to customers and to friends returning from the city to enjoy the landscape and to appreciate the products of this land.In 1965, my father Giovanni, with the help of my grandfather Stefano, started selling the first bottles at the farmstead. Little by little he increased the vineyard extension of Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes, purchasing important vineyards on the hill of “Le Gramolere”, ideal for wine due to its ground and microclimate.In 1975 my father, next to the house where he was born and where he grew up, has built the new wine cellar and the homestead where we now live.From the 2005 vintage I also work here with my father, after having completed my studies at the Oenology School of Alba, a school with longstanding tradition in Piedmont.”
